Piling and Mini Piling
"Piling Foundations, Underpinning and Mini Piling UK Contractor Services"
Belowground Limited offer a comprehensive range of piling techniques for foundations and underpinning. Our range of modern piling rigs can address all ground conditions enabling us to offer you the most economic and appropriate piling solution for your project whether it large or small.
Our Piling techniques are as follows;
Mini Piling - Auger Bored and Driven Piles
Mini piling rigs are the solution for piling works on smaller sites where access is limited. These are ideal on a wide range of projects including house extensions, detached building plots, conservatory bases, and sites where environmental issues are a priority.
- Our mini augered piles can be installed in diameters of 150mm, 200mm, 300mm.
- Our steel cased bottom driven mini displacement piles are 75mm, 100mm, 150mm, 168mm, 193mm, 220mm, 273mm, 323mm.
All of our mini piling techniques available with full anti-heave precautions if required.

Continuous Flight Auger / CFA Piling
Continuous Flight Auger piles are the solution for piling works on larger open sites including sites with unstable ground as the auger stays in the pile bore to the final depth, as it’s withdrawn slowly concrete is pumped through the hollow stem of the auger into the pile.
CFA is the quietest form of piling and is suitable for forming piles in most ground conditions therefore making it suitable for noise sensitive sites.
- We can install CFA piles in diameters of 300mm, 350mm, 400mm, 450mm, 500mm, and 600mm.
All of our mini piling techniques available with full anti-heave precautions if required.

Screw Piles
Steel screw piling is an effective solution for foundations and underpinning contracts where the use of a piling rig may be unsuitable. They can be installed in restricted access situations with a two man crew by hand or on the arm of a mini excavator.
- It is possible to install up to 25 screw piles in a day reducing labour costs significantly from conventional piling methods.
-
Screw piles work both in tension and compression making them ideal for underpinning work where they are used in conjunction with underpinning support brackets.
-
Screw piling also produces virtually no spoil saving on muck away costs.
-
Screw piles are available in a range of lengths and sizes and can have working loads in excess of 400-500kN.

Grundomat Driven Piles
If a driven pile is required and access to the site is a problem then Grundomat driven piles create a highly effective piling solution.
Piles driven by a Grundomat pile driving hammer are one of the most versatile piling solutions for restricted access locations.
Grundomat driven piles are constructed with minimal vibration essential when piling has to be carried out in noise sensitive locations. Ideal for Extensions and conservatories in built up areas.
- Diameters available100 mm/150 mm/165 mm.
-
Minimum vibration.
- SWL of up to 130 kN.

Contiguous Piled Retaining Wall
Used primarily with an augered pile to form a partial underground retaining wall, for example basement excavations or reducing ground levels whilst retaining another. The piles are installed approximately 50mm -100mm apart dependent on ground conditions and are connected with a reinforced concrete ground beam on top.
